Annie Boucher

Annie Boucher is a bilingual communication professional with a proven track record providing
internal and external communication advice and support to private and public sector clients.
She has provided services including strategic planning, media relations, French and English
writing and editing, and Web communication, to clients including Human Resources and Skills Development Canada,
Citizenship and Immigration, Public Works and Government Services, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities,
the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, the City of Ottawa, the Canadian Nurses Association, and the Ontario
Municipalities Benchmarking Initiative.
Annie has developed and implemented national communications programs for the Nursing Sector
Study Corporation, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, and the Traffic Injury Research Foundation
to name a few. In those instances, she balanced the communications needs of stakeholder groups with those of
the client, the mainstream public and the media.
Annie has conducted national media relations campaigns resulting in extensive print and broadcast coverage.
Ensuring that all internal and external outreach efforts are in line with corporate goals is at the heart of
Annie's strategic approach. So is looking at new and innovative ways to communicate with internal and external
stakeholders.
Prior to launching Fuse Communications, Annie led a PR practice for an Ottawa-based full service
communications company where she managed a team of communication professionals. Earlier in her career, Annie worked
in the Public Affairs office of the Ottawa General Hospital.
Annie is a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a B.A. Communications (Honours).
Shawn Murphy

Shawn Murphy has more than 20 years of communications experience in both the private and public sectors.
Believing that communications can only be truly effective when they are aligned with a client's business goals,
Shawn has developed and executed successful strategies and tactics for Bell Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada,
the City of Ottawa, and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, to name just a few. He also writes speeches for a number of
senior executives in business and government.
Prior to launching Fuse Communications and Public Affairs in October 2001, Shawn led a PR practice for an Ottawa-based
full service communications firm. His clients included Canadian Heritage, Industry Canada, Privy Council Office, DFAIT, and NR Can.
He has also worked as a consultant for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, where he spearheaded branding
and identity strategies, created a stakeholder liaison/outreach program, and used new media and interactive technologies to communicate with
stakeholders throughout the Americas.
Shawn's corporate communications experience includes six years with Bell Canada, where he provided dedicated services
to the company's President and Chief Operating Office, as well as the President of Bell Emergis. The move to Bell Canada followed
five years on the staff of the Prime Minister of Canada, where he worked with the Press Office's communications team.
Shawn began his career as a reporter and columnist with The West Quebec Post, an award-winning weekly newspaper.
