City of Ottawa, Corporate
Advertising Policy
Challenge:
When amalgamation of 11 Ottawa-area municipalities and the regional government took place on January 1, 2001, the new City of Ottawa needed a corporate advertising policy that would set a media buy standard, complete with formal RFP relationships; internal procedures designed to take an advertisement request from inception to completion; and, a draft policy document to bring to Council for approval.
Action:
Fuse Communications:
- Developed a uniform policy to deal with publishers and broadcasters.
- Created an operational procedure to manage advertising requests efficiently and effectively.
- Wrote a policy document for Council that will support both external and internal procedures.
Results:
Since the submission of the documents, the Citys communications
group has formalized their relationship with advertising
suppliers with comprehensive rules and pricing.
