Communicating via the Web – whether it is to form an interactive relationship with employees or to reach prospective new clients – has become a staple in the communicator’s ‘tool box’. The Fuse team has integrated Internet communications into its programming for clients since the early days of the Web. When it is done right, it is a compelling way to reach stakeholders.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Municipal Global Village Web site

Challenge:
FCM needed a Web site to rally support for the 2006 World Urban Forum III from its international partners. The key was to inform the municipal world of WUFIII events while ensuring the emphasis remained on municipal interests.

Action:
Recognizing the WUFIII program was in flux and that information relating to the conference and its benefits would be very fluid, Fuse built a separate Web site for municipal constituents. The site was based on the Municipal Global Village theme established by FCM for its presence at WUFIII. It also provided links to areas of interest on the WUFIII Web site.

Results:
The FCM's Municipal Global Village Web site helped raise brand awareness for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
